Baby Fair & Open House

July 24, October 2

2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the main lobby of Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital. Pre-registration is NOT required.

  Whether you are thinking about having a baby, have a little one on the way,  
  or have a newborn, our baby fair is worth attending!
  • Register for free prenatal classes 
  • Tour our birthing center & meet our physicians
  • Receive information about nutrition, exercise, relaxation, breastfeeding, infant development and car seat safety
  • Parents are encouraged to bring older siblings for a tour of the birthing center.
  • Learn about community resources including childcare, parenting, county health and other services


Session One: Labor & Delivery - A Start to Something New

June 12, September 11, December 4

3:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the conference rooms of Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital. Registration is required.

  • Pregnancy adjustments
  • Relaxation during pregnancy
  • Understanding your body and its changes during labor

Session Two: Labor & Delivery - An Ending & A Beginning

June 19, September 18, December 11

3:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the conference rooms of Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital. Registration is required.
  • Signs and symptoms of labor and pre-term labor
  • Labor pain management and intervention
  • Breathing and relaxation techniques
  • Medications
  • The process of Birth

Class topics include routine infant care, new family dynamics, and postpartum depression. Features a question and answer session with a physician, and a baby bath demonstration. This class also offers an in-depth look at the benefits and management of breastfeeding for stay-at-home and working moms.

Care of the Newborn & Breast Feeding - The “Why’s & How’s”
