Laboratory Services
The main lab is located on the second floor of the hospital building and is open 24 hours a day. The outpatient-drawing site is located on the first floor of the professional office building (physician’s office building).
While the lab is open 24 hours we encourage patients to come between 7am and 3pm so we can follow-up with the doctor’s offices during business hours, if needed. Patients should first check-in at the patient registration desk on the first floor of the professional office building prior to having their blood drawn .
After 3pm and on weekends patients may come to the second floor admitting and laboratory for blood work. During the hours of 7am-3pm, the main lab will accept outpatients in wheelchairs or other physical disabilities.
Please keep in mind that we provide stat and urgent services for ED, Outpatient Infusion Department, ICU, Medical/Surgical Floor, surgery and nursing homes in the main lab, and may have to attend to these matters first before we answer your knock at the door. Please be patient.
We have also been going to the Lake Linden Clinic on Thursday mornings from 9a.m.-10:30a.m. for those outpatients who find this location more convenient. Lab orders from any caregiver will be serviced at this center.

Please bring your insurance card and lab order(s) with you to each visit. Check in with admitting before proceeding to the lab area. If your health care provider has requested that you fast before your blood draw, they will indicate how long your fast should be (typically 12-15 hours) and give you instructions for taking medications during your fast. You are permitted to have a glass of water during fasting. Caffeine or nicotine is not recommended.
If you have questions about the specific instructions for your lab work, please contact your physician directly.
