Terry Smythe
Fitness Center Director

Terry is a Certified Personal Trainer, Spin Instructor and Master Trainer for Concept 2 Indoor Rowing specializing in fitness, schools and adaptive rowing programming.  She has been a professional in the fitness industry since 1980.  Terry has been with Aspirus Keweenaw Fitness Center since 1997.  She is a current member of the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports and the Michigan State Captain for the Medical Fitness Association.
 

 

Crystal Holzberger
Fitness Center Supervisor

Crystal is the Fitness Supervisor at the Fitness Center.  She graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management of Health and Fitness.  She is an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer.
 

 

 

 

Katie Curtis
Fitness Coordinator

Katie is the Fitness Coordinator.  She graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health Education.  She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and American Council on Excercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer.

MTU TechFit Program

How does the Program work?

Michigan Tech will pay $150 towards an annual membership for all eligible employees of Michigan Tech. The rate that you would pay as the employee for a membership will be $220/yr. Michigan Tech will also pay $85 towards an annual membership for one dependent of an eligible Michigan Tech employee. The rate for the one dependent will be $285/yr. All other dependents will purchase membership at full cost. If you have questions of eligibility or need to find out if you have $150 ($85 for one dependent) still available from Michigan Tech, please contact the Benefits office at Michigan Tech at 487-2517.

The employee is responsible for full payment of their share of the cost. Payment options include: EFT (electronic funds transfer from checking or savings), payroll deduction, case, check or credit card.


How do I sign up?

Call or stop by and tell our staff that you are an employee of MTU. We'll be happy to sign you up right away!

Not sure if you want to join? We offer a "try before you buy" program. Take a week to try us out FREE. You will be given a tour and be able to ask any questions you might have. If you decide to start with us, an appointment will be made with a trainer to set up a program for you and/or equipment introduction. This service is FREE to you.
