CPR Training
CPR Saves Lives!
The following American Heart Association CPR/First Aid courses are available to businesses and groups through Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital:
BLS for Healthcare Providers Course
- For healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course
- Teaches adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation
Health and Safety/Commercial Courses
- For people with limited or no medical training who have a duty to respond to a cardiac/first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid is intended for those involved in child care who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, such as child care workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations, and coaches for children’s sports organizations.
Heartsaver CPR: Teaches adult/child CPR and choking. Optional modules teach infant CPR and choking; adult/child CPR with mask; and infant CPR with mask.
Heartsaver AED: Teaches adult/child CPR with mask and choking and adult/child AED. Optional module teaches infant CPR with mask and choking.
Heartsaver First Aid: Teaches adult first aid, including general principles, medical emergencies, and injury emergencies. Optional section teaches environmental emergencies.
Heartsaver First Aid with CPR and AED: Teaches adult first aid (optional environmental emergencies section), adult/child CPR with mask, adult/child AED, and infant CPR with mask.
Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid: Teaches pediatric first aid, including first aid basics, medical injuries, medical emergencies, and environmental emergencies. Optional modules include first aid topics (eye injuries, fever, bites, suspected abuse), adult/child CPR with mask and AED, and infant CPR with mask.
Community Courses
- For people with limited or no medical training who want to learn more about CPR or first aid.
Family and Friends CPR
- For family members, friends, and members of the general community who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card.
- Teaches adult/child CPR and choking. Optional module teaches infant CPR and choking.
Family and Friends First Aid for Children
- For those caring for infants and children, such as family members, babysitters, and others providing in-home care, who want basic first aid information but do not need a course completion card.
- Teaches child first aid and environmental emergencies.
